Airedale Terrier

Airedale Terriers were initially identified as the Waterside and Bingley Terriers. The breed was mixed with the Otter hound, the results of this crossing enhance their hunting ability around water and scenting ability. They were designed about hundreds of years ago in the country of England. The breed was utilized as a vermin hunter The breed seemed to be employed as a police dog and a guard. At present the Airedale is generally a companion dog. Some of the Airedale's are also employed for hunting guarding , watchdog, tracking and military worker. The Airedale terrier is recognized as the "King of Terriers, since it is the largest of the terrier group. Airedale Terrier’s life expectancy is normally from 10 to 12 years. Weight of Males Airedale Terrier is 50 - 65 pounds and Females of Airedale Terrier is 40 - 45 pounds. Height of Males Airedale Terrier is 22 - 24 inches and Females of Airedale Terrier is 22 - 23 inches.
