Collie (Rough & Smooth)

Coolies are basically distinctive kind of herding dogs; the Collie's appropriate origin is Scotland and northern England. Although, it is known that the Collie was valued for a very long time as an outstanding sheep herding dog in Scotland and the northern region of Great Britain. Queen Victoria performed a vital role in the additional development of the Collie. The Collie finally made its way to the US and was officially identified by the AKC in 1885. It has become a very famous dog breeds. Collie Life Expectancy is 14 to 16 years normally. Height of male Collie is 24 - 26 inches and females 22 - 24 inches. Weight of male Collie is 60 - 75 pounds and females 50 - 65 pounds.
Collie is a large, elegant and graceful dog. It is one of the most glamorous of all dog breeds. The muscular body is slightly longer than it is tall. The head is lean wedge shaped, and it is well balanced to the body. The almond-shaped eyes are dark in color and the erect ears are folded forward. The neck is long powerful and well- arched. The strong back is supported by powerful hips and thighs. The tail is moderately long with an upward twist. There are two varieties of coat, the rough and smooth. The smooth coat is short and silky and the other one is long-haired double coat. Coat colors on both the variety include sable and white, tri-color, blue Merle and white.
