Boxers are basically a German dog and was developed in Germany in 19th Century. They were selectively bred from the two German mastiff type dogs, Barenbeiszer and Bullenbeiszer. Later on Boxers were crossed with the powerful Mastiff and Old English Bulldog. Boxers were originally working, guarding and hunting dogs. Boxers were employed by the soldiers to transmit information, and equipment throughout the World Wars. Military personnel delivered to a few of these dogs in their country. In 1894 was decided in Munich by three persons named Elard konig, Friedrich Robert and Rhopner to stabilize the breed and exhibit it in a dog show there. In same year it was don and in next year “1895” they established the first ever boxer club named “Deutshcer Boxer Club”. They publish the initial breed standard in 1902. The first studbook of Boxer was established in 1904 and this breed was also recognized by American Kennel Club in same year. US Boxer Club established in 1935. Now, Boxers get continued to go up in worldwide popularity as a police dog, military work, search & rescue, guardians, watch dogs, show dogs and household friends. By the statistics of American Kennel Club in 2012 the boxer was 7th most popular dog breed in USA for continue three years.
