Bedlington Terrier

initially the name of the Bedlington Terrier was the Rothbury Terrier. They were founded in Northumberland, Great Britain. The name Bedlington was given to this breed in 1825. The breed was utilized as searching dog of foxes and hares. It was also used as a vermin hunter by the mining workers of Bedlington. The earliest Bedlington Terrier club was established in 1877. They were accepted by the United Kennel Club in 1948. The breed was recognized as terrier group breed by American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1886. ">Bedlington terrier life expectancy is normally from 12 to 17 years and may be more than 17 years but it is rare. Height of Males of Bedlington Terrier is normally 16 to 17 inches and females’ height is 15 to 16 inches. The weight f male Bedlington Terrier is 17 - 23 pounds and females’ weight is 18 - 23 pounds
Bedlington Terrier has the general look of a lamb. Bedlington terriers have a unique appearance with an average sized and a flexible body. The shape of the body differs in most terriers dog to dog. Their eyes are dark, muzzle is small and strong. The back legs are longer as compared to front legs. The tail is moved down and slightly off from the body. The coat is curly and a selection of hard and smooth hair stands out from the body. The shade of their coat is generally sandy, blue, brown, sandy and tan , blue and tan. The topknot is lighter as compared to the body shade.
